TECHNOLOGY INITIATIVE
The Cedarburg Education Foundation in partnership with the Cedarburg School Board has committed to upgrade specified classrooms throughout the District with state-of-the-art teaching technology. Each school in the district has developed a plan that targets specific classrooms to be equipped with this hardware. The total needed to equip the district with this equipment exceeds $240,000.00. The CEF has committed to raising half of the amount through fund-raisers to offset the costs to the district while we ensure our community provides the best resources for our children's education.

Funding these critical educational tools are another way that Cedarburg Education Foundation supports our children's education "Beyond the Lesson Plan". The technology initiative contains these pieces of equipment:

NEC 310 Projector
- Displays computer monitor image, CDs/DVDs, cable TV, image from document camera
- Large image for all students to view
- Engages today's digital-savvy students

SMART Board Interactive Whiteboard
- Facilitates interactive learning in the classroom
- Research has been done showing student achievement gain with proper use of interactive
----whiteboards Increases student motivation
- Allows work to be saved; compatible with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, AutoCAD as well as using
----with just SMART Notebook software
- Ability to record lessons and post for students who were absent or need a review

Lumens DC 265 Document Camera
- Microscope lens for close-up, magnified images (science experiments, math manipulatives,
----small text)
- Ability to record audio and video (i.e., record science experiment, penmanship lesson,
----editing student work)
- Integrates with SMART Board (images can be imported into SMART Notebook software)
